If you would like to open a Trading Account, please complete the following steps:
- To open an account online click here. Alternatively download and complete a Trading Account application form below and send this to us.
- Ensure a regulated intermediary completes the Verification of Identification form which is provided at the end of your application.
- Send this to us with certified copies of your proof of identity and proof of address.
Once you have completed your application form please be aware that it could take up to 8 days to reach us.

Trading Account Application Form
To open a sharedealing account and trade on the Irish exchange, 3 UK exchanges and 14 International exchanges. You can also invest in bonds & gilts, investment trusts, Real Estate Unit Trusts (REITs) and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
You will also receive a Cash Management Account to settle your trades automatically.

Appropriateness Assessment Form
To trade in Securitised Derivatives such as Turbo's or Covered Warrants you will be required to complete an Appropriateness Assessment. This will help us to assess whether you have the necessary knowledge and experience in order to understand the risks involved in dealing in Securitised Derivatives such as Covered Warrants.

United States Dealing
If you wish to invest in US (United States) stocks and shares, you will need to complete a Form W-8BEN Substitute.
As part of our obligations to the IRS we are required to document all holders of US securities. Additionally, should you reside in a country that has a treaty with the US you may benefit from treaty relief in respect of dividend and interest payments.

Verification of Identity Form
We will need to verify your identity and address when you apply to open an account with us. To do this you need to:
- Download and take the Verification of Identity form to a Bank or Building Society along with your passport and bank statement (dated within the last 6 months), to confirm your name and address.
- The Bank or Building Society will endorse photocopies of these documents to confirm your identity and address.

Asset Transfer Form
To transfer assets held with another broker to your new TD Direct Investing account you will need to complete an Asset Transfer form.

Asset Transfer form (US/Canada)
To transfer assets held with American/Canadian Brokers/Transfer Agents into a new or existing TD Account you will need to complete an Asset Transfer form - American/Canadian Brokers/Transfer Agent.

CREST Transfer Form
To deposit Irish and UK share certificates into your TD account you will need to download a CREST Transfer Form for each shareholding, returning them to us with the appropriate certificates. Please ensure the details on the transfer forms match exactly with those on your certificate irrespective of spelling mistakes.

Third Party Authorisation Form
This enables you to authorise one or more individuals to deal on your behalf by submitting a completed Third Party Dealing Authority form, signed by all the account holders and the nominated individual. If the Third Party applicant is a resident of the Republic of Ireland they will also need to complete a Verification of Identity form which is provided at the end of the application form.

Depositing Australian Stocks
If the stocks are held in your own name i.e in paper, download & complete a copy of the template Australian Example Client Transfer Request Letter with Statement (MS Word Format) and return it to us along with a copy of the Issuer Sponsored Holding Statement.
If you do not have a copy of the Issuer Sponsored Holding Statement you will need to download and complete Australian Example Client Transfer Request Letter (MS Word Format).
Alternatively complete the Australian Standard Transfer Form for each type of stock you hold.
If you hold your stocks electronically please complete the Asset Transfer Form.
